Darkend Eyes

Darkend Eyes

A Poem by Sarah Redigan

She wakes not feeling rest
she hopes never feeling peace
she runs never feeling the wind in her hair
she dreams never facing reality
she screams but nobody's listening
she faints with no one to catch her

Rubbing her eyes but always waking in the dark
is this how its supposed to feel?
alone in such a huge crowd
Tears don't fall from her big beautiful eyes any more shes
TAPPED OUT!

scared that reality is really a nightmare
that she'll never awake from

pulling the cover over her head
praying , wishing  that when opening her eyes
the darkness will disappear
and light will suddenly emerge
will a brilliant longing

no drugs or sinful things will ever make her feel alive
alone you must be used to
ever cursed to this room deep inside her heart
no key
no window
Stuck

a faint breath she breaths
realizing that this nightmare
so hoping is not reality
becomes to heavy a burden on her shoulders
no memories left of the brilliant
light in the meadow of her imagination
  she cannot emerge

stuck a girl an infant in her own respect cannot believe that the smiles have all  faded
taken with them all her childhood dreams
she pulls the blankets down slowly from her head uncovering her eyes trying not to peak

a deep breath she breath
and opens her eyes
DARKNESS
is still all she see's

This is related to Litton Road and this is the first, before the candle. The poet is pouring out her heart about pain and hopelessness. Strong write straight from your soul.

It may seem like your love is gone. As if everything you dreamed was just that, a dream. These moments are the ones that carve the character that will make you interesting to others in the future. The only ones who truly know what life has in store, are those who have lived it and come out the other end a little wiser. The pain that will seem to accompany young love teaches us to be true to one another. These pains will help you through life. Through memories of these mutual pains, those endured and those imposed by us on others, we learn to respect each others feelings. This will make you a better person. One you too can respect.

It's very nice! Very true as well. A lot of people feel that way at some point in their lives.
