Sharks

Sharks

A Poem by David Elijah

Let me surf
Ocean view
Forget the population

I'm a Smurf
Turnin' blue
From overmedication

I back stroke
In the sea
Wave hello to all the sharks

'Cause I know
They will be
So mindful of all my scars

They would pity me
if they saw my
soul with agony
prolific

But my blue skin is
blending in with
the colors of the
Pacific
