The Nightly Battle

The Nightly Battle

A Poem by Lindsay.
"

A piece written for the Poem Off of Music based off of the piece Chevaliers De Sangreal by Hans Zimmer

"

The night sky above is bright and clear

With sadness I hold forever dear.

The joy I feel cannot compare

To the feeling of utter despair.

It’s taking over me

It simply won’t let me be

And yet I still try to fight

And try to get close to the light.

To get close to the light of the dawn

That’ll never come, where man can carry on

I fought so long and hard in the dark

That the moon made several silver arcs.

And just when I was about to be beat

I stood still and felt the heat

Of a soon rising sun

And soon the battle was won.

The despair I feel cannot compare

To the feeling of true care

Combined with the love

That was sent from the sun above.

Lindsay.
I tried not to base it off the movie this song was used in, incase you couldn't tell. So this is probably not my best work, at all.

I found it intreging. It caught my attention and keep it trapped to the very end. I mean trapped in a good way. Anyway I loved the poem. It is fantastic great work.

I cannot say whether this is your best work or not, since I have not read your work really, but this is a magnificent poem based on that song. It captures the melody wonderfully, and you have fulfilled the purpose of this contest magnificently, writing a poem about a song that was used in a movie to explain a completely different topic. Superb job, thank you very much for entering my contest!
