Lies in Passing

Lies in Passing

A Poem by KeelyJane

Hey, how ya doin'?
What's up?
How ya been?

What's new?
What's  good?
What's happenin'?

Could things be better?
Are you good?
Can't complain?

Better than ever?
So-so?
Same ol' same?

I'm great.
Not too much.
I've been doing just fine.

Nothin' new but the day.
Livin' Life.
Killin' time.

We assume no one cares
so we answer as expected.
Courteous questions
leave the truth neglected.

Lies in passing.
Not caring, just askin'.

I like the flavor that reality leaves on my tongue as I salivate to your truisms in your Lies in Passing!
I tend to remain fleeting when I want to avoid such diminutive confrontations and I am a hard person to miss. No hiding behind a fence pole for me to remain unseen! But, then I do not need much more than a casual inquiry to kick start my mouth if I have already had my coffee! Just sayin'!

Oh so true indeed. We're all passing by saying these quotes to kill time when small talk is started by someone we really don't are for. Great job. Love the theme here. :)

I just love this. Something I do without even thinking about it. But those canned
answers are certainly not counterfeit and not misleading but is a bridge that
lets you go on with your life without engagement. Saying to a stranger that "I
cant complain" doesn't mean that I wont......that is, if I know you....

nicely done,
dana

These are the common courtesies we've been taught, they don't, we don't really care most times, these questions are on auto pilot. Sometimes I prefer it to the intrusive questions that people think they have the right to ask. So, how ya doin?
