Seeds of Facade

Seeds of Facade

A Poem by KeelyJane

His insides plagued with secrets

Glazed and suffocating slow

Confined to the skeleton of his conscience

The broken bones of what he knows

His mind escapes through fantasy

Where flaws are merely figment

Of his ash colored imagination

Shaded shames pigment

His guilt concealed and starving

He feeds self worth to the sparrows

Flying with eyes wide open

Into head space narrowed

His clear box tinted

In  only looks out

Manifesting what is

For others to doubt

He who knows the garden

picks the weeds of his

So not to see the growing

Of who he really is

Here in the western world, we are conditioned by Judeo-Christian mythology which tells us of a vengeful diety who is ready to punish us for our past....I say it is the here and now that matter--the past with all of its stains is gone---the future is not yet here--only what we do HERE in THIS moment matter

KJ, I have noticed that in a good amount of your poetry work, you like to straddle the line; between light and dark, good and evil, yada, yada, yada,. And you do it well. This is another well written piece that causes us, the readers, to think after finishing our read or perhaps even to read again. I know that I read it several times.

I think we often choose to focus on the negatives and it hinders us from ever getting to know one another as deeply as we might otherwise. Some people though definitely live in delusion rather than face the music of what they've said or done. Interesting piece KJ, thought provoking.

Wow. Especially that first verse. Very powerful. Very dark writing.

I get the concept here Keely Jane. Someone is so out of tune with themselves that they are no longer who they once were - they are projecting this persona and they have now being doing it too long - they are too close to the problem to change (only see the weeds in their garden - the garden is what we want to project to the outside world, while inside we may be a mess - all fur coat and no knickers, as they say).
Powerful poem KJ

Reminds me of an unused Richey lyric

"Conscience can't be cured'.

I like.
