Memories

Memories

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

Sometimes we lose the one we love

"

                           Memories
Memories of you lay siege to my mind,
Ribbons of longings my heart doth entwine,
Away you have flown with winged ease,
As my soul searches for you in each wafting breeze.

Gentle assurances bear no burden,
As the space between us widens,
Eloquent silence ravages my phyche,
Even as I cling to your cherished memory.

Deep within the folds of my tortured existence,
Tendrils of regret garner me no chance,
To  traverse the void between us two,
For I am here and there are you.

Chaotic dreams bring your fevered embrace,
But when I awaken I am torn from this place,
And reality intrudes bearing reasonless rhyme,
To each their own space and own time.

The comparisons you have made are just awsm. The poem hits you instantly and finds a place in your heart. Truly, seperation is something we don't look fore to and the worst, we talk to dat person on phone or simthing, want to meet him but when we happen to meet, its kinda awkward and no one knows what to talk about. Wonderful write.

Thank you Avinash :)
Having lost someone I loved deeply, I felt as though you were reading my mind when you wrote this...
It is a beautiful poem - and although sad, there is beauty in your words and beauty in your heart.

100/100 tender memories

You are welcome...Any time...:)...................
I liked this, you present your sorrow lucidly while still maintaining a poetic flair. I particularly liked these lines:
Deep within the folds of my tortured existence,
Tendrils of regret garner me no chance,
To traverse the void between us two,
For I am here and there are you.

Quite a refreshing read on a topic that I write a lot on...Nicely done.

Captivating piece, creative friend. I loved it especially the first stanza.

"Memories of you lay siege to my mind,
Ribbons of longings my heart doth entwine,
Away you have flown with winged ease,
As my soul searches for you in each wafting breeze."

When I reached the line "For I am her and there are you" I had to stop and take a deep breath before continuing. Elegant sadness, bitter regret, sweet understanding... Perfect again!
