Hold my hand

Hold my hand

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

Being there for the one you love and expecting the same from them

"

         Hold my hand

When you feel lost,

Adrift on a tumultuous ocean,

I will be your lighthouse,

My love a beacon,

To deliver you to calmer tides.

When life knocks you down,

With a gleeful roar,

I will help you up,

Even as I understand,

That this battle is yours.

But I ask of you,

Be there for me too,

Because I buried my demons,

In a shallow grave,

And I am always afraid they will claw their way out.

Bear with my idiosyncrasies,

Because they are mine,

Hold my hand lest I fall into the void,

And believe,

That I will do the same for you.

I would slay your dragons,

Even as my own has me cowering in fear,

So understand me when even I don't understand me,

On days when I curse my breathing,

Remind me to take a breath if not for me ,at least for you.

A promising poem of love with sincerity of an angel and I can feel there is a call for redemption as well.
Creates a perfect scenario for taking a walk with your loved one at the sunset and whispering these words or just let the evening breeze do the job.

All we need in life is to take care of someone while and being taken care of, someone to whom we can devote ourselves, who will make us more happy by letting us stay with them and being happy to be with us.

Someone who you always forget to say something, yet they listen to everything.

This is an amazing line.. The whole thing is really well written, not really a bad thing to say at all.

Thank you Sayed .Nice to see you my friend :)
Sometimes I cringe at the thought of how much your feelings can surpass someone else's emotions for you even while they claim to match. Often times we find ourselves on the side of caring more. Mama always said, find someone who loves you more because of in most cases it is innate for us. I was struck with the emotions of this poem.

Thank you Shirlena your words are always so kind :)
This conveys the epitome of a true friendship...
Slaying dragons and shining light on the darkest parts of our soul, is a lot of "give and take"....
to be there for each other can only strengthen your bond.

Well penned, dear Vidya!~xoxo~:)
