She Wrote

She Wrote

A Poem by Tara

She wrote to keep death at bay.

Some nights there was a fury to her scribbling

As if the demons were close on her heels.

There was a tenderness to her poetry

Yet one could not deny the layers of madness.

Her best poems were penned in cemeteries

and at dusk when tall shadows of trees

fell across the tombstones.

She wrote the stars

as they lit the grave laden field

She wrote the river of tears

how they pooled in the moonlit pond.

But she could not write his smile

or the way his eyes

gazed upon her for the last time.

As the sun disappeared behind the hill,

She ended each one with an epitaph

closed her book and walked back into life

One poem stronger.

One poem stronger.
Amen, and the perfect summation.

A few weak spots but they are easily fixed.
There's a lot of wonderful imagery and emotion behind this.
Nice work red

One poem stronger.
