i am a foreigner

i am a foreigner

A Poem by vivekanand

i am a foreigner

at times

to your love..

and prophecies of

inseparable friendship..

i do not understand

how i can

not deny myself the next moment

as much as i assert myself now..

i am a stranger

to my thoughts and aspirations..

they mushroom in the wet earth

of defeat and unachieved recognition..

i do not understand if

they speak the words of passion

when they do not last the test of summer..

i am outside your system

and

civilisation

and order...

because you are out of order,

i mirror your distorted visage ..

my perversion is unmasked

so i dig your fallacies

which are as much mine as yours ..

but my mind is a steppe horse hoof

that doesn’t rest in your oases..

i burn your haystack and cause mayhem..

deplore your unsatiable urge

for want of peace i couldn’t gift myself..

but you say

my anger is because i lost out..

you know ,however

you say what you say

to stop me speaking...

You have a very natural voice, as if you are speaking to the world and more importantly, to your inner self.

we all dream of that society , emily , where sensitivity is more important than sentiment, ; where love is more important than failures to satisfy worldly standards; in that society , poet speaks the word of god or godlessness..both actually mean religion to me..

I dream of a society where the poet is more important than the doctor or the politician or the presidident of the large company
