Ten Fingered Monstrositye

Ten Fingered Monstrositye

A Poem by Waqas Rabbani

“You Ten fingered monstrosity
holding my heart in your hand
each finger paired with another
squeezing the very life from me
how can you smile at me like this

why not wreathe me in barbed wire
bathe me in gasoline and put me aflame
this is somehow more painful
this suffocation and constant pressure
extracting my soul like grape juice

i can see you now, swirling it
smelling it and swishing it within your mouth
that sharp tongue of yours
snaking over , savoring
and the licking of your lips after

i wish i had more self control
but you are like an addictive poison
and i have chosen you
because you let me forget
i used to be sane once

being sane was mundane
i desired more, but i was stupid
i didn’t know this is what it meant
to let you consume me
i willfully surrendered to this fate

end it quick, please
i don’t want to play anymore
tear it out, see it beating on your hand
that traitorous flesh of mine
let me fall into nothingness forevermore

I like the poem. I could feel the struggle and the anger in the words. You know how to use the language with skill. I like how you led to the strong ending. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
