(61) Man In The Moon

(61) Man In The Moon

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs

Looking up at the night sky
I see the Moon looking back
There is a face smiling at me
With the stars shining around

The man in the Moon has no troubles
He has no need to pay the bills everyday
He never goes hungry and never worries
At night, when you need him, he's there

The man in the Moon will never judge you
He will listen to the words you share
Never answers you back or puts you down
He always lends a shoulder for you to cry

Looking up at the night sky
I see the Moon looking back
There is a face smiling at me
Now I know I am smiling too

I wish that such a paradise was found daily! This stanza made me really float away from my problems and just drift into utter relaxation and calm. This piece is absolutely excellent my friend! Glad i've had the chance to read it Today!

I enjoyed this poem a lot.
I don't really understand "the man in the moon". But I understood enough of it to get the poem!
I like the idea of such a carefree world, no bills, no nothing! Must be nice!
A great poem!

It's comforting to know that we always have companion in the realm of space, be it the stars or the moon or even the blackness of the night. The imagery is fantastic and you've really made the poem sound great. Nice job once again :)

I did most of my travel when I was in the Army at night. I didn't like to travel with all the working people. The western highways were my favorite. Follow the moon to your destination going west. A entertaining poem. It is sad we must know everything. When the stars and moon were great mysteries. The world was a interesting place. A excellent poem.

hmmmm...I have often seen the moon as something which can be seen from everywhere, by everyone....it's omnipresent and you put the thought across perfectly...enjoyable.

aw i like this. the man in the moon is an immortal being with nothing to ever worry about...i wonder what that might feel like? it's a relieving feeling when you know there's someone who's concerned about you and never judges..you just tend to smile in the end :) a great write!

This is simple, yet beautiful. I love the idea. It leaves you with a feeling of happiness. "There is a face smiling at me, now i know i am smiling too."
Good job! :)
