Life's Simple Pleasures

Life's Simple Pleasures

A Poem by Joy C
"

If poetry can reflect its author's moods, then my recent depressing work might be a symbol of a troubling mind. So I had decided to add some positive poems to my collection. To cheer myself up!

"

Wake up to a smiling face
Sky dripping the color of purest blue out the window
The soft cushioning carpet under my toes
A loving hug bidding farewell

Of  to a day’s work
Leaving the warmth of home behind
But knowing that I will return
To its unconditional embrace

Life is worth living
Let’s celebrate it
By a big smile in the morning
It’s another day of living!

And I also wanted to try my hands at what I call a "list" poem. It's not that good though, the list stoped in the second verse. Uhhh, better luck next time. At least I felt good when composing it :).

I think this poem is wonderful! It is a warm hug, something that gives you a good feeling. It's always nice to have that simple slice of comfort that is home.

I have read a few of your previous poems...keep your chin up as best you can...inspiring, though you may not have felt as inspired at the time, or so the mood i get from your poem...good write!

It's a good poem, but it left me in some doubt as to whether you were actually happy or not. Perhaps a bit of unhappiness still lingers, Joy. Sam
