until we meet again

until we meet again

A Poem by Stephanie Hawkes

Until we meet again

15.8.10-24.4.11

We held you close for just a moment, then that moment was gone

The unbearable pain of losing you will sadly last a lifetime

The sadness of our final goodbye will take a lifetime to understand why

Why we had to say goodbye

A lifetime forced to live without you

                The memories are forever,

The memories of you.

You’re untouched innocence and your inability to judge

Your beautiful brown eyes, your infectious smile and your teeny tiny toes took my heart when you lay down for one last sleep

You often visit in my dreams, you are so peaceful and free

You fought a long battle with us by your side,

You showed us how to love,

You taught us how to be brave,

And you gave us the strength to grieve.

You hold your head high when we begin to break

You whisper words of kindness in times of hard sleep

You bring living light to the depths of our darkness

You run your fingers through the brightest of rainbows that sit just out of reach

Your courage and strength something you left behind

Somewhere so safe only the two of you can find

Slowly in time you will become one

Living on through your mum

For eternity in your mothers heart

Rest in peace baby solider

Forever I will love you and for always I will miss you

And never will I forget you

Xoxo love Auntie xoxo
