Finding Center

Finding Center

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

One's Middle Eye

"

Wanting to center myself,

a journey into the woods

would likely suffice.

I started out early,

about a quarter of 10.

Started off to find my center.

By reaching back to nature

to find a grounded centered me.

My Zen soul had to be found.

Sun breaking through canopied trees.

Oh wait, I have to stop!

This is the place!

Beyond this point,

my computer won't work,

I think I just lost WiFi.

he he . that wifi and computer does keep us from getting away. Remembered my recent family trip to Yosemite and the 'relief' when we got our signal back.. only to be forcefully brought to reality. We leave to escape reality but don't let ourselves do so.

How soon will you move from practice to the real deal?? :)
We’re all tethered to the WiFi these days, eh? Tech seems to be fast becoming a god of the modern age.

Thanks David, it was time to lighten the mood.
Oh Willard, you threw me for a loop with this one. I was reading along, walking down the zen path in the forest with you. It seemed so peaceful, I was there, then you took the rug out from under my feet with the computer. I love it. So funny. How can we ever find our center when we can't be parted from our devices. They become attached to us like a limb. My phone is now a digit on my right hand, and when that isn't so, my computer gives me a uni-hand.

I love it!

Hahaha this killed me. The beginning is so relatable and bohemian, and the ending is so honest and ironic. Even though it is endearingly funny, it still holds a lot of truth and introspection. Loved it!
