Shotgun Rider

Shotgun Rider

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Ill in the Philipines

"

Sleep did not come as I searched

To find a functional consciousness.

The grim reaper seemed to be near.

Thoughts raced, then slipped from

my mind, yet I find safe harbor

on the ride looking for an escape.

It's not a safe haven

When you ride Shotgun

for the grim reaper
