Nullify

Nullify

A Poem by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Rambling.

"

Each day, we die a little more,
while living a little less;
the life and death equations
in a constant battle, of trying
to nullify each other.

And, still, we wait for miracles
~ at the brink of failure.

Always glad to see you after a break. I've been spotty in 2020, as well. Most of my favorite cafe writers are off-and-on lately! I love your poem, but I was also struck by a counter-thought. Being 64 & disabled, lots of the parts of me that I used to love have died off due to the inability to pursue them. This might be perceived as a bummer at first, but in time, we resilient humans find a new routine that's just as satisfying, even if seemingly "less" than what once was. Yes, there are miracles all along the way if we stay open to the possibilities, too. Despite a dreary message, I find a lot of hope in this poem (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

' .. And, still, we wait for miracles - at the brink of failure. '.. As should.

Hopefully one day time will let you do so very uniquely, stir thoughts past, present and - undoubtedly, into the future. Defiance is perhaps weaker these days than has been, fighting so many problems and flaws. But, there again.. 'each day, we die a little more' is better surely, than know tomorrow will never come for you/for one. Yes, yes and yes.. wait for miracles, create your own.. with magical writing. Take care, keep safe. Please.

I think about this equation often. Unfortunately I wouldn’t call it a nolification for death definitely tips the scale.

I feel like I'm dying even mire sometimes. Turning japanese as the saying goes. Turning into somethin you thought you'd never expect. I'm back for now. I guess. Nice poem though, I'm hoping to get into my old Sarah Allen Poe mode. But I'm on meds now so there goes my inspiration. Oh well.

Well spoken Doc. and it is true the results of this panicdemic is unbelievable. We do wait for miracles ... hanging on by our fingertips to reality, not quite believing what we're seeing.

Good to see you back.
Take care ... be safe.

This is profound. It's like we could have a sort of heaven on earth if people stopped dividing themselves from everyone and everything they don't identify with. It makes one think a lot about life.

Thanks so much for the review :)
Yumna, thank you for writing this poem. I really need to read something like this. I am still hoping for a miracle despite of what happened.
