Inspired by a photograph of a friend

She is happy with her work in the fruit garden.
Her smile wins the hearts of all gentlemen.

She works all day now and again.
She likes dry day without rain.

  She is a farm girl who lives on the plain.
Her smile will bring you joy and beat your pain.

very endearing and an enjoyable read, very descriptive of the character's love and loyalty towards gardening, the earth also of her basic character, one that self-sacrifices for the sake of other's, one who is tender heart-ed. very reminiscent of once again nursery rhyme perhaps farmers would tell their children about the importance of giving back to the earth, growing your own food. almost reads like a sonnet. a lovely write. thanks for sharing :)

Nice write sir! I understand where this is coming from... When you see the happy faces hardworking girls working in the paddy fields that literally drains all their blood and sweat, you realize that you do not need much in your life to be happy.. Happiness its a state of mind that gets nourished by simplicity... That was the feel of this piece.. simple yet a happy one.. I loved it :)

Your farm girl should remain a mystery, my friend! Seems you see her in her happiest place, whether raining or not; for some, working outdoors means freedom and the thought of doing anything else would be terrible!

This is a very nice poem with a great sentiment in the simple joy of hard, honest work.

The second line seems a bit odd in its phrasing. The whole second stanza is phrased in a strange way. The second line of the second stanza seems to be missing an 'a' after "she" and before "dry", either that or "day" should be "days"

The last stanza is beautiful.
