My Lost Bird

My Lost Bird

A Poem by zainul
"

I lost my bird and found her again

"
This is my bird
Once I lost her for lack of care
I regret quite hard
I confess it was not at all fair

A good bird is a part of life
She gives company in joy and strife

She flew away for my neglect again and again
I was the reason for her infinite pain

I don't know if she cursed me
I don't know how she got free

Now she frolics among the trees
Her beauty is always on increase

Come back my lost bird, come back soon
We will live together under sun and moon

Your poem makes us realize of our often made mistakes. At first we don't care about our possessions. But, when the possessed thing gets out of our reach, we regret of our mistake.

I can get you, longing for a bird that you lost.

An another great write.

Pen on.

Zainul, this was a wonderfully written poem. I think things, (people, animals, possessions) are so much taken advantage of, now a days. You don't truly realize how to treat someone, treat something, until it's out of your reach and you can't take back what's already been done. That's why it's so important to treat things how you'd like to be treated. I think the world would be a very happy place if more people did that. Well done again, my dear friend :) Your words continue to inspire me.

As much as I hate to quote overused cliches and adages, it's true that you don't know what you have until it's gone, though in this case it's not so much about the bird being gone but about the bird no longer being with the narrator. I think it's harder to deal with someone who has left us but whom we still see than someone who last left and we never see again. Great poem!

A beautiful poem. Liked the message that we should appreciate what we have and take care of it before it's too late.

It seems like a simple poem at first glance, but it has so much depth and meaning behind it once you read and decipher each line. I really adore this piece, it's beautifully written. Had me captured by the first line.

Thanks for reminding us that the things we loose increase in worth over time and although their absence torments us, it's the memories that always keep us warm and balanced in a crazy world. Beautiful writing.
