I believe that was not once, but twice... May be you should do a follow up with the other A-bomb and have a duet piece to this write... There's nothing fair about war... both sides lose... and we say the Holocaust was bad... did the US of A... not do the same to the Japanese people... but all at once... I know the reason was to stop the war quick and have no more casualties... really had to drop 2 of them to show the world not once, but twice...
and now we tell the world... we will not use them on anyone unless used on us... A little hypocritical... but that's war... I know my people (Philippines) were captured by the Japanese during the time... and I'm glad to have my freedoms... let's look at the future and hope no one use the weapon on the us... just for history repeating itself... like it always does...

Hi zainul. A good write that is short, concise and succinct, about this horrendous war time moment in our past history. Skillfully crafted free style metered rhyming couplets which I enjoy. Excellent use of brevity. Vivid imagery. Good flow and tone. Line to line transition and breaks are done well. Nice rhythm and enjambment. Nice use of simile and personification. Good rhyming. Near perfect masculine end line rhyme that is executed well in this piece. Good depth of feeling. Powerful. You express the horror of this fiery deluge that left shadows for the ages. Good word choice. Nice use of repetition for emphasis of feeling. Nice assonance. Good closing lines. Well penned and a good read. Write on!

Such an amazing poem for such a tragic event, of many innocent families and children lost that day by man's destruction.

Great points here Zainul... I find the irony in this calling it a "little boy" clever.
Me standing neutral in it, brings me thoughts, between the two countries.
From what I read, we warned the Japanese before we dropped our atomic bombs on their cities in the hope that they would evacuate them , but I don’t think that they realized how destructive our bombs were until we actually dropped them, and so unfortunately their evacuations weren’t completed before our bombs were dropped. The atomic bomb saved the lives of at least one million American troops who would have been lost if we had to fight door to door. Also, the atomic bomb prevented the Soviet Union from taking control of at least half of mainland Japan. The dropping of the bomb could have been the lesser evil, but perhaps not, for it all depends on whose point-of-view one takes on this issue. Evil being lesser or greater is still evil, but that’s life.

The history may be helpful for the peoples of present generation.
But,indiscriminate death and massacre of civilians may not be justified by any logic.
My intention is speaking in favor of the innocent civilians of all countries of the world irrespective of caste, creed, colors, faith and nationality.
Thanks for your contribution.

He was the one who told be of the history of the use of the Atomic Bomb. Even though they tried to kill him at Pearl Harbor, he found no joy in dropping bombs over Japan in response to their surprise attack. People should refrain from starting wars, and invest in peaceful means of discourse. When someone starts a war, then someone else is forced to react and finish it regardless of how much they don’t enjoy doing so.
