Oh, the ways we speak

Oh, the ways we speak

A Poem by ZC0413

Oh, the ways we speak

us creatures,

we shoot the s**t tell stories drag cigs

pause,

“communicate; look into her

eyes,”

the trees whisper secrets sometimes

I wonder if she knows,

what the tree whispers into my ear about us.

Oh the ways we speak

us human beings,

our bodies rising and falling,

breathing towards, and away

like the branches on that gossipy tree as it sways

Lightning struck it there, or something

at the base. Whatever the case,

It’s where the two trunks come from, their beginning.

Then they shoot up into eternity

twisting and twirling

together.

Dancing and struggling,

towards and away,

each other.

I wonder how close they could get tangling up like that?

Oh the ways we speak

us creatures.
