She waves from the glass

gives one last glance

he hugs me one, two

times “I love you.”

“I love you too”

and “see you soon”

but i know it's not true

i'd be a fool

to assume

so here i go

enough with the show

say goodbye

take off and fly

i know it's hard

to draw a new card

hope you have a good hand

and bet all you have

to put it all in

don't get caught bluffing

but you'll be fine

there'll be signs

don't get lost

in a fog of frost

bitter and empty

leaving you unhappy

look at the forest

calling you to rest

if only you could see

how truly free

you actually are

that this may scar

but first it will heal
