India Diary 1

India Diary 1

A Poem by Anand Sehgal

Suddenly came from nowhere ,
the pitch dark clouds.
It had gestated the
"much awaited rains" for long.
For me ,
Waited a feel-good journey by a local train in India,
The unique thirst-quenching scent of soil
after the rain-drops hit the ground ,
The pleasant moist breeze....
The awesomeness never ceases
in my hometown, in my own world -
The very much known world.

I've always loved the rain, but it does have an extra soothing effect when I'm at home. Anywhere else and it just seems like rain, but at home it feels special. Reading this made me consider the idea that many English professors see hanging out in the rain as a sort of baptism (I had to do a lot of analytical novel reading this past year, so I'm up on it :) ). Knowing that just made this resonate with me more. It's like coming home sort of makes you better and fixes all the bad things. Good write.

Beautiful! This really lifted my mood Anand, more rain here today and not had much sunshine this year, so this gave rain a new perspective for me x

I am ok love, thank you for asking, hope you are too? x
Rain is definitely something we can take for granted. We usually mistake it for depression and a state of listlessness. Instead we should remember it is bringing restoration to us and the world. Thank you for sharing this fine piece!

Thanks so much Julie :) much love back :)
what a beautiful poem about the gift that rain really is...often we forget, we just see dark clouds, think of storms, damage, we are afraid of what might happen...but in ways rain is so necessary to our survival.

in life we suffer storms of another kind, and go through pain...but that is also a necessary rain in our lives...it helps us grow.
