Broken key

Broken key

A Poem by Bhumika Devkota
"

Live Strong and Proud

"

LIVE STRONG

     ...

The key to her heart was

all the pain and tears,

never could it be restored,

not by anyone,

many came close,

but gave up,

searching the scattered pieces,

she once was a beautiful

confident, free woman,

but not anymore,

not giving others a second glance,

not caring about who she was,

now she lives,

regretting all the things,

wishing she would go away,

to a place where she will meet him again,

she was invisible,

to her old friends,

she was known as the,

heart broken woman,

now she is an old,

sad, quiet woman,

wishing she could go back in time,

and let them finish the pieces

     ...

LIVE WITH PRIDE

Author's Note

Bhumika Devkota
Never be sad, enjoy what you have. Be free, confidence, and proud of who you are. Don't let others bring you down, you have to be stronger than that. Give everyone a chance, live your life (just don't break the law). Make sure you are careful so you won't regret anything. Don't let the key ever be broken. If they really want you, they will comeback. Live STRONG AND PROUD.

This was a beautiful little piece. I really like the imagery and the emotions you have captured within it. It is true that sometimes sadness can make you blind to other options that are around you until it is too late, but I like how you gave hope in your author's note afterwards as well.

Thank you a lot!
This poem has a powerful message many including me can certainly relate to. It is also so sad to be invisible and simply give up and hideaway. I am glad that the character, loved the image it brought forth realized she could go back. Thank you. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to you too.
Except for a few misplaced words, this was a very good poem. We all understand the pain of separation from someone we care deeply about, But we survive, to reach out for another . . .
