Old poem written on 16 December 1992. Rewritten today.
My dear Beatrice
She told me. "Johnnie become like the dancing waves. Wild and free. Allow the Monterey nights to make us know the freedom and the laughter. Enter into the mediation of the sea and listen to her stories whispered to us by the many lovers who sang the praise of love and celebrated the embrace of another. Johnnie if we listen, we can enter the dance of forever. Where lovers leave their scent of love for the sea to embrace"
Dear Beatrice, she danced for me in the Winter storms of 1992. She moved with dancing waves and I saw her beautiful smile and perfect body moving with perfection and contentment.. I went to her and she whispered into my wanting ear. "Bare your true self and forget the sadness. We must forgive and seek forgiveness. We must return back to the essence of youth where we fear nothing or no-one. Let's, me and you dance with the Pacific and allow the coldness of the Winter's cold to awake us. Make our hearts come alive and leave the empty excuses in the sand."
I wrapped my arms around her and she kissed my face and lips. She whispered. " Listen to the waves. So much disappointment and so much joy to be found. Let's us create a story that will make the Gods jealous and the sea sing the song of two lovers who found love and peace for a moment. John Castellenas/Coyote
To find "love and peace for a moment" sounds like what we are all seeking...what more can there be. Being a Californian, I appreciate the association with Monterey and dancing in the Pacific - this gave me a lovely visual that went well with the emotion. Great work...wrought with feeling.

I wonder if you meant "meditation" rather than "mediation" in line 2? I'm afraid that I think FREAKIN' COLD WATER whenever I imagine dancing in the Pacific Ocean near Monterey, but I tried to suspend my deep-rooted conditioning so I could enjoy your whimsical & romantic story of peaceful seduction in the sea! *smile* Growing up around here, I never much wanted to play in the ice cold ocean waves, but I really do love their rhythmic dance, which you've described so well. Makes me want to go down to Pismo Beach where we used to play in the ocean as kids. Thanks for sharing!

The sea cold or not. Always my favorite place to be. Thank you for the help and reading dear friend.
Beautifully romantic. The sea never fails to charm the heart, roaring and gentle, like smiles and tears, being free to do as the sea does...just be and live love :)

I agree my friend. Thank you for reading and the comment.
".....She whispered. " Listen to the waves. So much disappointment and so much joy to be found...." to me, this line stands out: there's beauty, hope and sadness all intertwined with one another. The bitter-sweet reality.....well captured.
Some good advice spoken here, to live in the moment, for the moment and to put aside all the worries that we have to share a moment with another that will go down in history as a wonderful memory, are the moments we need the most. To live briefly with the freedom of children, being carefree and happy with the ones that matter the most, is something we would do well to do more of, it may even help in bringing clarity to see our struggles in a different light and help resolve them, or at least forget them for that moment. Beautiful moment captured on the best camera of all, the mind.

Very descriptive and captivating.
How wonderful it would be to be free like the ocean and to dance like the waves....with true abandon.

Ah, to be like the ocean...wild and free. I think the reason the seaside is so inspirational is that we see the waves crash on the shore over and over again and yet even after the sun evaporates the water, it is never depleted. The waves continue to continue. If the sea could talk, what fanciful and sensual tales it could tell! Your words are tender and gentle....and ultra romantic. So lovely, John. Lydi**
