Deep Down Inside

Deep Down Inside

A Poem by Mazie
"

Anyone who has experienced depression may be able to relate

"
Deep down inside, it burns down deep within.
Tear that, my heart; tear all, my weary soul
Still banned from light, consumed by numbing sin
And naught can fill that void; that empty hole
No gold, no fame, nor songs nor stories mend
This sickness brings each day, a wave of pain
Recounting lacks in life, my faults, no end
And trapped still more, by shadows past, in chains.
They hold me now, and nothing breaks the cold;
The downward fall, the ice that hides away
The better self, still shunned til Night grows old
As day returns…but Life’s in disarray…
This single spot of Hell, from all, I hide,
But still, the pain is real down deep inside.

Very good description of depression. Depression is the blind killer. Can kill hope and dreams of someone without the people near knowing.
"No gold, no fame, nor songs nor stories mend

Recounting lacks in life, my faults, no end"
The above lines can be true. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Dear Mel, your affliction is a shared Hell that many have. If all of us are in fact in Hell, should we not get together? A party of sorts is up for grabs if only we were to stand through our Hell and find that hand awaiting something to grasp.. im going to have to write a poem about this now XD Thanks Mel. ANYWAYS! Sorry, my mind is a whirring machine with infinite belts that zip around as if they've no intention of ever stopping. Your piece is an accurate count of depression. Ive found that my own revelation from depression to be, don't allow yourself to dwell on what was or what might be. The past is depression, the future is anxiety. Shall we not live today, now, in this very breath? Would it be so wrong to take this breath and do with it what you want with no regard for what the next may bring? I'm loving your words. Don't you dare stop writing :)

thank you again for your wonderful feed back ^^
"As day returns…but Life’s in disarray…" This line`s very beautiful as same as the glamour you`ve got by the hands of God.

There`re too many points that I co-relate with the wicked world--A world where only the pain comes from others. People`ve lost their dignity for everything, no matter what. They`ve become the addicted souls around the world; don`t even know the value of hearts; have kicked out the tears, emotions and opportunities but, with time.. everything gets cooled down because, every day`s new. I happen to know that with time.. even with "seconds" .. the pain can be turned to "happiness" if the heart holds an "attitude" for peace; for some respect to oneself. Very creative write as always. You always put your emotions in your write and even that`s why I love reading your beautiful stuffs which`re themselves full of your own incense. Keep writing! ;)
