The Most Delicate Rose

The Most Delicate Rose

A Poem by Giulia King

"You deserve to be with someone who makes you happy."
The earth started to shake.
"You're the one that makes me happy", she said with a trembling voice.

"I lost myself somewhere in your eyes, a sky full of stars.
You're the most delicate rose in my life, but that rose doesn't open up anymore."
He said, with tears in his eyes.

She felt misunderstood and lonely.
No one understands her mind.
No one understands her deepest and darkest secrets.
No one thinks as deeply as she does, this will always be her tragedy.
They misunderstood the most beautiful part of her body.

She looks at him as a stranger.
A million thoughts and memories of them are scored in her mind.
All that is left is this goodbye.

"I will always love you", he said.
"You're the type of girl I will always have a thing for."
He turned his back against her and walked out.
As the door closed she collapsed on the floor with her hands on her face.

She cried until there were no more tears left.
We're made out of stars.
A sense of acceptance washes over her and she started to
pick up the broken pieces of her heart.
Still mourning over what they could have been.

Very nice.
I like the unconventional pacing...it adds to the sense of discord building, which is what you want with a piece like this. The reader takes the emotional journey with you.
I enjoyed this piece.

Thank you so much for taking your time to read and review it. It really means a lot to me :)
Respect, Gullia King

I find this poem too literal. Give yourself a freedom and fly in the sky. In other words, take it to another level. I know you know how to because you did it in your previous poems.

All anyone has to give another is the best of themselves. If that is not enough then often it is best to go on. Valentine
