The boneyard

have you seen dolphins riding a crest?
they are one life force, an energy

one with their home
children of the tide

must never stray too far
must always return

their hearts tell them when,
as vital as food for sustenance

so moana is to me, a swelling heart
beat, the life blood of this earth

furious, gentle salty breath glistening,
a roaring seductress that will snatch

the life out of you in a heartbeat,
& in the fear and in the courage

i know i am alive; again & again
i return, to surrender my last breath

my final rest in the boneyard.

i like how you showed your unwavering devotion to your sacred place and took the reader there. The last line took on quite a double meaning for me, The phrase final rest, it could mean you're getting back up and never turning back or resting for good. i like what you did!

A lovely piece, a gentle reminder to stop, take stock of where your home is, its right where you are. Wherever you are you must treasure you Home, respect it as the small part of the grand scheme of things it is ...

i am with Solo...dolphins are my favorites...they are so intelligent---i think much more so than we humans...and they are so kind...much more so than we are.
