Worthless

No one knows what I see,

When I see that gorgeous boy called you,

Everybody knows that you go for the girls,

That treat you like you're absolutely worthless,

Well why do you go for those girls,

When all I ever wanted,

Was to make you feel wanted

Baby I don't ever wanna see you hurt,

All those girls do is kick you in the dirt,

And treat you like you're absolutely worthless,

But baby you are everything, everything to me,

Tell me why can't you see that,

Why can't you see me,

Crying 'bout you while I'm sleeping,

Cuz not a minute goes by,

Without me wishing you were by my side,

And I can't stand to see you,

Being treated like you're worthless,

Now I guess you see the point,

Now you see my life goal,

Cuz for 10 years that's been my only hope,

But I know I'm only wasting my time,

To show you what you mean to me

Author's Note

I used to like this guy for a really long time and instead of liking me back, he always seemed to like the hot popular girls who treated him like he was worthless. It would always kill me inside because he was never getting the respected he deserved. One day I was listening to the song Wanted by Hunter Hayes and these lyrics popped into my mind! So I hope you like it!! :)

I think it's sweet, but from a few people's perspectives.... it may sound selfish to want something like this for someone who does not see life this way. There was many a day I found comfort in being abused emotionally, stuck with things through my skin, ignored but respected...... all ranges of emotions. Most every girl I ever knew tried their hand at seizing opportunities, "making the world a better place", deconstructing the pride and brawn of men they liked to better suit their own needs, and sometimes....... sometimes it has to work itself out, and you can lend your time and heart to be their net when they need it, and not necessarily ask for it. I think it's the same with a pregnant girlfriend or wife. There is constant emotional turmoil of highs and lows, and to just be a good listener is far more important that always trying to have the perfect answer without her finding her own way through whatever bothers her at the time! I like the poem, though, and hope the dude you speak of.... realizes that a rare girl who possesses this ability to actually say what is on her mind..... did the right thing and did what MOST girls I have EVER known, never did. : )
