playful and free

playful and free

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

written while gazing at the moon and ocean on my recent transatlantic cruise.

"

stars tiptoe across the sky

their pattern suggests they may be hiding from someone

or something

perhaps an alien creature from another planet

hard to say really

the ocean’s skin is dark

but its sexy voice can be heard

its salty breath entices me

i swallow a seductive splinter of air

savoring the taste

it's all a puzzle beckoning

                enchanting me

slowly sliding into provocative locales

with its kaleidoscope of intimacies

suddenly feeling playful and free

i wink at the man on the moon

hoping he will dream of me tonight

This is a transatlantic cruise! I was mesmerized as the message of your poem goes into different offshoots of exploration around this scene that is magnified by your entrancing artwork selection. The playful personification of the various heavenly aspects is sublime & piques the imagination of all writers. That ending is so unexpected & memorable! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

with these words, i am sure he will dream of you tonight...
i like how you captured that feeling of looking at a scene and imagining...Mother Nature, the man in the moon...a good pairing ....
i really like "the provocative locales" and the Kaleidoscope of intimacies"
wow on those two phrases.
