Swan Lake

Swan Lake

A Chapter by Moonie
"

~inspired from the ballet of the same name~

"
Come to the lake, oh Prince!
The waters are frosted blue.
Come to the lake, my love!
How long have I waited for you...
Come to this winter lake!
See how the ripples spiral and sway.
Like a blanket of cashmere, the Moon
shall burn your loneliness away.
Come to the lake, my dear,
take shelter from the raging storm.
Step into these icy waters, fearless;
My love shall keep you warm...

Author's Note

Moonie
This sounds to me like something the Black Swan maiden, Odile (from the ballet) might say to the Prince to seduce him to come with her...
I wrote this quite quickly, and without much attention to detail, to break free from my writer's block... Feel free to give suggestions for any improvement.

You've voiced the stirring music of a muse, calling the lover's heart and soul deep into the warmth within. Somehow you make every line seem to dance in the bliss of that dark light.

It's so romantic and quiet. That kind of poems takes you to another world like traveling through imagination. And It's full of love and peace too. It such a great poem.

Such beautiful words, laid sweetly inviting and eight lines in the finest meter. Methinks with all respect that lines 5 - 8 aren't quite right even though meangingful.

Smiling wishes sent for the Holidays..
