Earth Day Blessings

Earth Day Blessings

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Blossoms sing in wind and rain

"
Cherry blossoms have fallen

covering the ground in a blanket

of comfort bestowing pure love...

Easter has left colored eggs in the grass

and heaven awaits earth day at last...

Planting trees to grow into rain forests

where giraffes can nibble on leaves and

birds can nest in the boughs of passion sweet.

Rejoice and sing lullabies of rebirth as

Mother Earth celebrates the beauty of

International hope for people everywhere...

We care and provide the growth of love.

so lovely Pat! well said .. read it out loud .... i live int he Ozark Mountains and our forests have recently exploded in all their greenery .. its so dramatic one can see it from moment to moment almost ... never would have made the connection between fallen Cherry blossoms and hidden Easter eggs on the ground .. that is so cool ... we have a couple of flowering Pear trees out front that lost their petals about a week ago ... and its like snowing flowers for a few days ... really enjoyed reading your poem .. took it straight to me ol' heart!

I still remember planting a tree on the first Earth Day when I was in High School. Your love of nature is strong and it shows in this beautifully written poem. I can almost see the colored Easter eggs in the grass! The imagery is stunning. I loved this one, Pat. Lydi**

dear Zaynab... thank you for your review. truly, Pat
' Rejoice and sing lullabies of rebirth as - Mother Earth celebrates ... ' as so she should.. and could even more, Pat.

Without the Earth, even the magnifcence of bees would fail to feed us. Throughout history Man has near circumcised his world by slowly destroying it. We both know we need do more than celebrate Earth day, dear dearest Pat. Your love and respect-filled poem celebrates what should be done not only through the four seasons but every moment between. You obviously know that heart and mind, for our planet's future. Tis that or lose it to Man's greed and indifference.

Please, please NEVER stop writing the way you do, loving the world around you, eulogising over the smallest bud, the tiniest creature.

Yes, Mother Nature is a great teacher and provider of beauty, it's just very disappointing, that we her students, fail at times to heed her message and understand the value of all that she provides us with.

As always, your poem teems with life, optimism and images of beauty. A fine write for the season of peace and forgiveness.
