Coffee for Me

Eyes so droopy still half asleep

I stumble to my kitchen to watch it seep

Gifting me with a wonderful prize

The magic brew to open my eyes

The gurgling sound of bliss so true

Enabling me to speak to you

The musical sound calling out

To keep me calm instead of pout

Filling my senses with a euphoric scent

Bring to me a feeling of content

Can I wait a minute longer as it finishes up

To poor for me my blissful cup

To watch the potion gracefully splash

Into my mug with excitement I will thrash

Setting it up just how I like it

For it to bring to me such excitement

Finally perfect I bring it with me

To sit upon the table and blissfully see

The calming effects of extra caffeine

To think it came from just one bean

I think that I appreciated this one a little more, I was sitting drinking coffee at 5:45 am while reading it. Maybe this should be officially amended from poem to coffee making song, chanted as you wait to pour that first cup of the day. Maybe print it out and paste it to the coffee mug cupboard door :)

Yes The more I look at them the more I like this one better. I read it to my mom yesterday over the phone and not only did she laugh but she thought it would be great on a cup so I find it amusing that you have said something similar. That was my inspiration for the poem I was looking through the contests and seen that one and thought it could be fun to see what I could come up with... I thought out my target audience and thought of my love for coffee... I am very dependent upon coffee lol. I love it. Thank you so much for saying that. I feel simple is usually better at least now days... It seems as though when it is not written simply the meaning tends to get lost. Thank you so much for you kind review friend.

Well your simplicity is your weapon, and i would really feel upset if i get to read your writings written in an intriguing way....Your words reaches to the reader's heart and i believe if a reader needs dictionary to understand the meaning of a writing then its very tough for the reader to truly enjoy the writing....
