Padded Walls

Padded Walls

A Poem by AaronFreitas
"

Something different... no not about me :)

"

Wrap me up... strap me up

Throw away the key

Locked in a room, I lay to spoon

With a shadow of me

      Shut them up!!!

      Tell them to stop!!!

      These voices wont cease!

Rocking on the floor, feeling like a w***e

Thoughts unwind

Bite my tongue, just for fun

Where is my mind?

Pad these walls ignore the calls

I must be crazy

Hear the cries my soul lies

Visions hazy

       “Just do it

       kill yourself

       do the world a favor”

I cannot lie the voice inside

Says take my life

So I jump to fly

I fall and cry

But cannot die

So wrap me up, strap me up

Throw away the key

It’s obvious this padded room

Is the end of me,

Woah this one's actually pretty scary but I enjoyed reading it :D I especially love the third, fourth, and the last two lines, because it gave the feeling that there's no escape not just from the padded room, but from the condition itself. Great poem and I'm glad I read it :)

Really strong lines you've got there ! Terrifying-ly clear images.
Keep exploring this "something new " side of yours :)

Indeed this is so terrifying! But it is amazing how you depicted it so vividly.

I really like this. It flowed very well and I must admit, I started reading it in the form of DMX's prayers. I too have felt suffocated by my own self. Great job! Very lyrical!!

I hope this isn't a stupid question ( but I'll justify it by saying I don't know much about poetry): Is there significance to the last sentence ending in a comma?

Happy accident,
Pretty tortuous and powerful stuff. It's those nasty thoughts again … they like to get a hold sometimes, don't they?

Aaron I got a suggestion to make instead of
"Rocking on the floor, feeling like a w***e" it should be
"Rocking on the floor and banging on the door"
and rest is perfect

I immensely enjoyed your poem. You produced powerful words of solitude and what it’s like to be on the edge of insanity--it’s not a welcoming place. Well done! :)
