the penmanship of connection

the penmanship of connection

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the penmanship of connection

weeping prophecies

joy settles in its nest

comfort psalms written

in beautiful cursive,

as you settle within me

and the tears climb mountains

shouting ecstasy from the peaks

of passionate intensity

sometimes even pensive fountains

are of clear, crisp sweetness

and when the predictions come through

love is free to fly

but chooses to stay---

Love is a confusing thing but I feel some how in this poem you got it very right. I loved reading it just as much the second and third times as I did the first. It is a great work. Keep writing. :)

Heartfelt and a piece to remind us that love is to be treasured, even though it can never be owned. Great poem.

I love the last two lines...if the connection is by heart, love won't leave no matter what.
What a beautiful piece!

Tender, vulnerable love poem. You take a chance, despite the "weeping prophecies" . "Joy settles in it's nest", "tears climb mountains", "pensive fountains" flow.....and Yay!- " love chooses to stay". LOVE THIS J.!

"If you love someone set them free" and if they stay, it is special...and meant to be. A poignant beauty of a write. Lydi**

Last two lines are most meaningful to me.
It has so often been said that, if you love someone, you must be willing to them go--not, God forbid, so they will actually leave--but so they may feel "free to fly" and still choose to stay.
Beautifully put!

Doesn't love always choose to stay...and in some of the strangest places...places where we might least expect to find it. I've found more generosity among the poor than the wealthy for example...perhaps because the poor have known want and hunger. And they seem to be happier with less...which makes one ponder what wealth truly is.
