Disconnected Dreaming

Disconnected Dreaming

A Poem by Frieda P

Was I flying or
 was it, dying
in my dreams
          upon your soul
I was suspended in
 your lusty web
my heart and head
                                     disconnected
As I fell back to earth
 to find
there was
 no reason
           or rhyme
just shattered notions
of love's emotions

Just kidding dearie :) this is just a traveller from one world to another and you got me travelling from place to place with your word play here :)
Simply amazing and as usual Frieda got Karizmatic way of expressing with outstanding Calibre of executing the way which you always do :)

This piece has the disjointed feel of a dream.

I was hoping it would convey that feeling, thanks so much Angel!
This tumbles as does the heart when love is experienced, never straight forward and the presentation of this is lovely too xx

Much appreciate your kind words Poppy, thanks. xo
When we think too much, our imagination will lift us higher than we couldn't imagine. When we come back to reality, it's like falling into the ground...finding yourself broken into pieces.

Nice poem about realization. Good job, Frieda.

Thanks Dhaye.
You captured a deep emotion... some of us get caught in the web and only get entangled more when we struggle...

I feel your write more than words can allow me to express... this is touching, Friedalicious!

Well penned in it's simplicity... yet overflows with emotion to convey the pain.

I felt the power of realization of a sour relationship in this sad but realistic happenstance( intolerable ) of our lives. The form and wording are excellent...:)

^^~^^ :)...
You used the format to your advantage here, Frieda - that disconnect from a person who was a dream... that became a nightmare of shattered emotion.

Great poetry...

sometimes it's difficult for us to draw the line between reality and illusion especially when there's a constant battle of the heart and the mind. As always, beautifully executed frieda =)

So true gabrielle, thanks so much. :-)
disconnected.. the perfect word for how we are in dreams where we can let go of reality for a short time , and then having to disconnect from the fantasy of the dream...

Hi Frieda. A lovely write and presentation about the duality of dreaming in each of the stanzas. Unique and beautiful interpretation in the wonder of your dreams in skillfully crafted free verse/rhyming blend which I enjoy. Good imagery, flow and tone. Lovely depth of feeling; I sense a fragmentation that is sown together in contrast with the desires felt in the opening lines of your poem, subconscious thoughts of love fractured, bleeding through into your dreams. Thought provoking. Good word choice. Nice alliteration, assonance and consonance. Well penned and a much enjoyed read. Write on!
