~Dark Side of the Moon

~Dark Side of the Moon

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Collaboration with Jack, needless to say, he's the light side.

"

A deeper shade of black devoured your soul
coloring my world in metallic shades of gray
dark angels took flight into the night
hanging by a thread for all to see
 moon hung its head in shame
twilight had failed its plight
spirits collided head first
music played only sad tunes
...the day sunlight ceased to exist

~~~~~~
Fireflies flicker
light slowly resumes
night becomes day’s color
tears evaporate in reflected heat
dawn’s sweet zephyrs on jeweled beams
caress indigo butterfly wings in silken softness
and I see, once more, you find me on this dark moon
whispering in feathered sonnets of melodic lyrics calming
illuminating my heart in showering sparks of the happy memories
Stunning collaboration, Frieda and Jack both!! Both of you have composed some incredible imagery for this piece (which I happen to be partial to in poetry).
Jack, I love your "dark side," so to speak, with its "deeper shade of black devoured your soul." And just as much, Frieda, I love your "light side," with its "fireflies flicker," and "tears evaporate in reflected heat," and "dawn's sweet zephyrs on jeweled beams." What an intense combination of positive/negative images, so romantic, loving, and adventurous!!! Ooh, I'm just gushing. :-P
get out your pens Bacharach and David
this is beautifully penned. Have you ever seen the first F'antasia by Disney and the end of it where Night on Bald mountain is coupled with Ave Maria? This is the poetic version of that masterpiece. And I found it enthralling to read.
Life is such a mix of dark and light.. night and day... winter and summer... Your collaboration speaks to the blending of all that comes into us.. all that sings through us... all that we become in the blending of the colors... This is beautifully powerful....
Grazie mille Leandro, can't beat 'impeccable'!
"dawn's sweet zephyrs on jeweled beams." Wow, you implement the use of my favorite word and I adore you for it.
To find such intelligent sweetness, timeless and pure i'd seek millennia a moon how ever dark.
Excellent write. :)
Oh you two certainly have created a beauty in this one. I love your two voices because they blend seamlessly in this yin and yang piece of poetry.
Thanks blue, it was effortless to have Jack's voice blend with mine...glad you enjoyed it.
OMG!!!!! I read this and understood it! It wasn't someone else's beautiful dream or just beautiful words strewn across a page as most of your works seem to be to me. It was as if this could have been my own reality. I'm so sorry, but I'm glad to have finally been able to personally connect with a writing of yours rather than just admire and marvel at your poetic genius, Cause for celebration
