Change Box

Change Box

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

wooden box
shoe sized box
tannin oiled, golden hued
hand rubbed box its
sharp edges worn smooth
time and events
oils and pheromones preside over the
opening
honeycombed interlacings
all in nothing left
dripping
wet
tannin oiled, golden hewed
chiseled
never opened
it seems all those changes
flux identity in a
wooden box.

I could have pictured it quite well, even without the image ;)) .... Interesting how you describe and pay more attention to the box, never giving any details about the contents. Proves how even mundane objects can serve as artistic fodder! Nicely penned!

i have different boxes too ...i think i stock up all small ..tiny things.... no heart to throw them away.... its always nice to open them and revisit old memories.. and the sweetness of sentiments attached to it ..isn't it...

and i especially love wooden boxes.. as a kid me and my cousins believed we would find treasure buried under our land and we would dig up the land ;).... we din't find treasure, but we did find water... and some one did step on our small canal and then lots of scolding from parents :)

oh ...you must make him a mud box to play in before he is too old ;)
Beautiful words weave such magic around the worn, old box. There are boxes and there is the wooden box holding remnants of a different time, of events past. I treasure one such box. Its big and holds my sister's dolls and all her stuff. She passed away in teenage, decades past...

Indeed, some things just stay with us...A great poem!

Exactly. Poem is as weird as splash photo but artistic!!!
On of my faves of yours :D

Looking forward, looking back, looking in, what's been kept, what's in the box. Funny how when something happens it carries so much weight and meaning, then looking back with our minds we realise it was just time passing. Having a box brings it all alive again, we get to relive the moments, and perhaps take note of how we ourselves have changed.

For me I like the physicality of this poem, you have given us something to not only see, but feel and smell.

Love ya work E .... hope all is well your side X

All those words strung together and placed inside a box....a Pandora's box of sorts. Yes, life changes, but that is the circle of life and we all experience it albeit a bit differently for each of us. There is a poignancy to this one, E. Lovely. Lydi**

Are we all to busy leading life to understand what life is. One chance to walk through time becoming what you will. At the end of life. Does the box define you.
Or is it just an insight into the mystery left inside.

Pleasure, Einstein.
I have two camphor wood chests such as the one illustrated above. One is where I put all my troubles until its time to sort them. The other has bedding in it.
Excellent, intelligent, wise work.
