Hushaby

Hushaby

A Poem by Amber Sun

Hushaby, close your eyes, go back to sleep,

Look around you, count the other sheep,

Dream about bunnies and gumdrops galore,

Transcend to Utopia and ignore,

The conflict, the hate, the war around us,

After all, another's woe can't astound us,

It is our nature to feed, this is true,

We satisfy our hunger for value,

Our lives are unhindered, what should we care,

Of their virtues being raped through warfare,

Who cares for a genocide in Darfur,

It is no more than a way to pilfer,

One viewpoint of a conflicting design,

Why, just look at those folks in Palestine,

Our dear beloved Israel put right,

These "rebels," these "terrorists" who would fight,

By forcing their families, Exodus style,

Into concentration camps all the while,

Bombing them with explosive chastisement,

And taking their lands with aggrandisement,

We must all love the strong and fear the weak,

We must turn deaf ears to each painful shriek,

Humanity makes as it's ripped apart;

Be one with the age and dare not depart,

From conventional thinking and don't lose,

Those new age plastic Occident values,

Look around you, count the other sheep,

Hushaby, close your eyes, go back to sleep.

This is really good. YES...the world needs to wake up and smell the death in Sudan...
I wrote about this as well...Highest Bidder ... and my very good friend posted this. I'd like to share it with your readers...

******************

On 27 February 2007, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) communicated the names of the first two people accused of crimes in Darfur: Ali Kushayb and Ahmad Mohammed Harun.

According to the Prosecutor, there are reasonable grounds to believe that the two men committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, notably murder, rape and torture, between August 2003 and March 2004.

On 2 May 2007 the ICC judges issued their first arrest warrants against Kushayb and Harun.

On 19 September 2007 Interpol issued a Red Notice against Harun and Kushayb. While a red notice does not constitute an international arrest warrant, it allows the warrant to be circulated worldwide with the request that the wanted person be arrested with a view to extradition.

On 1 October 2007 the Sudanese government disclosed that Kushayb, who was believed to have been held in custody since November for what the government described as "suspicion of violating Sudanese laws" and for criminal acts in Darfur, was released from detention.

Sudan's foreign minister declared that Kushayb was released due to lack of evidence against him and reiterated that Sudan is not party to the ICC and as such has no obligation to cooperate with it.

We can only pray for justice to eventually be done some day!

God's Blessing

Justin I truly look up to you, and your voice.
You are a true humble humanitarian, a poet patriot, and an honorable hero of humanity.
And, a damn fine writer too boot.

Keep telling your story dear friend, and tell it loud.
We hear you, and we're with you.

You've spoken the truth about the conflicts. I like the way you convey the truth and what a better way to do it than with the power of the pen? I cannot agree more as all these injustices are tormenting me inside and I am glad to see that it has been noticed and denounced by some other fellow human beings. Thank you for speaking your inner voice justin :)))))) Thank you for denouncing :)))
