Just OutsideA Poem by john l smithjust outside
When I step outside the door Something grabs hold of my heart That wonderful fresh spring of air Gives each day a special start
The soft of air and sunlight The sound from midst the trees Herds and heards of flocking birds Up from southern seas
And each plant with a look Their intent to share that air And to replace what winter took They’ll into fresh spring’s snare
It’s coffee out each morning now With the buzz and chirps to share I think there is little in this life With which we can compare © 2019 john l smithAuthor's Note
