Cathedral Ceiling

Cathedral Ceiling

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

a precious natural room; sky my ceiling, woodland surrounding my fresh place of solitude.

"

       Cathedral Ceiling

Cathedral ceiling, solid cream vault of sky,

Isolated under your umbrella of beauty

 I feel welcomed.

As flutes lending their sweet voice,

Woodland song birds echo and call

This place of outdoor freshness

is really their own.

I am glad!

What prestige! What Joy!

To visit their home unencumbered,

For it is a simple room.

This room of peace invites my being to lift itself,
 to fly, to dream.

Dear Kathy,
You have taken me to this heavenly place, to Nature's beautiful cathedral, where a city boy rarely ventures.
Now, that you've swept me up and stood me here beside you in this soul-inspiring world of peaceful splendor, I feel a deep sense of home in my heart, waking dreams in wondrous joy.

Beeeautiful free versing, Kathy … I love it so.
Thank you M'Lovely Lady-Poet 🍃 ⁓ Richard 🤗

PS: I adore the picture, too … it would keep the ambience alive if it were displayed above your poem, like the cathedral ceiling, itself. 🎶

i am touched ..i am a nature boy at heart .. my picture invited by your poem is under the canopy of forest ..but in your opening lines (raised Catholic) i am centered in one of the grand Cathedrals found everywhere .. the "creamy vault" is instant in smooth, savory, and peace filled ..

as I read this I am instantly shifted to the many travels and outdoor adventures I have had, we need to be reminded of what's out there, just how precious it all is I think .... for when I am trekking through the Aussie Bush or the Himalaya's or elsewhere nature touches my soul and reminds me I am alive ...

You are so lucky to have one such place for yourself XX

Your words lift the heart and soul into the beautiful essence of the wild world around us. Step by step through forest and meadow, the world melts away and we are clothed in the glory and beauty all around us. Thank you so much for this, and welcome to the cafe, dear poet!
