Yours Merry Day

Yours Merry Day

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

This is a wish for the birthday of a special one of poet.

"

And here the day comes,
Full of joy and mirth.
Such events betimes rare,
When legends takes birth.

Here this meek poet,
Mere with his paper and pen;
Can bestow blissful blessings,
Only to the image he ken.

O God! Shower your drops
Of boons and benefactions.
Pour down your gifts in his life
And lave him with your protection.'

Enjoy your day, my mate;
And leave no stone unturned-
To achieve an astounding aim
For which you are too concerned.

I don't know many poets who achieve "legend" status. Few are those who are even known in their own lifetimes. So many like John Donne and Emily Dickinson are only known after their deaths. I doubt there are many people who could even name two poet laureates of the United States like Richard Wilbur who just passed away just this October at the age of 96. But I do hope your friend reads this touching honor and tribute.

Well, this definitely takes the cake for the best birthday poem I've ever read!! There are many things I like about this. Your use of language, the colors you chose for the font, your effective use of figurative language, and just the overall message of the piece. This poem is simple in meaning, but the way it's conveyed is powerful. Great job!! :)
