A LONELY GRAVE

A LONELY GRAVE

A Poem by KCthelastboyscout
"

who sheds tears for a forgotten soul?

"
The rain comes to an end and the dark clouds begin to part...

There are no mourners for the deceased
No prayers for the its departed soul
The remains will never be identified
No friend or family will claim this body
So I began to dig in the ground...

I imagine this person's existence had meaning, but in the end there was no explanation for it
I wonder how you met your fate here?
This lonely place of dying
Does the same fate await me as I continue my journey?

Oh Lord, if there a is a Lord...
Please bless my soul, if I have a soul...

Discovering another 'lonely grave' gave me a bit of Deja Vu! Thanks for letting me know. It's the same story -we can't help but ask the same questions and sometimes there are no answers. It is sad but I suppose the main thing is how the life was passed. Your last lines are very powerful - many of us invoke a god when we can see our fate coming.
Very thoughtful writing KC - well done.
All the best,
Alan
