LONE WOLF

LONE WOLF

A Poem by KCthelastboyscout
"

even animals need the company of others

"
Once, part of a family
Now, separated from the pack
A long, lost journey continues

Winter is no longer imminent, it is here
The ground is covered by a blanket of snow
The lone wolf is a scavenger
Roaming the land in search of food and shelter
But more importantly, companionship

These have been lonely travels
An outcast in wilderness
A solitary predator guided by natural Instincts
Every direction of his journey becomes further away from others like his kind
Day turns into night and the moon and stars appear
The wolf loudly howls in agony and despair
There is no response...
...so far away from.home

This feels really sad, I get it, I too stray from the pack

I love the imagery you've woven here; I like how well you frame what it is like to be kept apart from society by mirroring such an experience with a wolf. Certainly done before, but you put a nice spin on it :)

No wait! Never mind his name was lone wolf. Where did I get the el loco wolfo? Huh. Anyways, Great poem!

Nice poem eagle scout! I like it! Sorry, but this reminds me of the free birds animated movie with the turkey admiring a guy who went by the name of 'el loco wolfo' or something like that

Your metaphor here is strong KC. A metaphor to illustrate your life, and one that some other people would be able to relate to. The loneliness and coldness of your situations really got through to this reader, as did the ending, where there is little hope of change. Moving poetry.

You look like my math teacher. Very suspicious :)
we are all a part of this world and society, we need to connect and communicate with others, feeling the energy comes and goes from us into them, from them into us, being that we are all "humasn", this gives us warm assurance and the needed company, Your metaphor is a strong and wonderful one, I liked that You used it to reflect Your own life and situation, and remember, eve the lone wolf is having a home somewhere.

Great use of wolf to a man being an outcast and homeless and alone, surviving and lonely.

The use of Wolf as a metaphor is both interesting and so very accurate. Like us, wolves live in packs, hierarchy and family are vital to them and though there are outcasts, very few wolves will simply remain lone wolves for long; it is not in their nature any more than it is in ours.

I think there is a comfort in the knowledge that mostly, the lack of companionship is only transient.

Beccy.
