Most of my stories take place in a dark fantasy world of my own making:

Dothgard (my dark fantasy world) is a continent riled by conflict, set in a time similar to the early modern period of our past (16th - 17th centuries). The name "Dothgard" itself roughly translates to "death's farm". Throughout its history there have been wars, plagues, pogroms, and countless other curses. Yet there has always been hope, like a candle burning resolutely in the shadows. This hope has usually taken the form of great individuals: heroes, leaders, saviours, call them what you will. Whether their impact be big or small, powerful or humble, these individuals have changed the world in more ways than one, often unbeknownst even to themselves. And so, this is the world the reader is plunged into. It is a world of hatred; of death and despair, but also of love, joy, and even occasionally peace. In the end, much like our own world, its all down to the people. They can be good or bad or somewhere in between, that's all a matter of opinion. But what can't be refuted is that Dothgard is a world filled with adventure. Who knows what might happen next...
