Percy Bysshe Shelley and William Wordsworth Lovers
DescriptionThis group is for admirers of BOTH Percy Bysshe Shelley and William Wordsworth. In fact, these two are the leaders of The Romantic Era.
Percy Bysshe Shelley: ![]() The Romantic poet, who rebelled against English politics and conservative values. He drew no essential distinction between poetry and politics, and his work reflected the radical ideas and revolutionary optimism of the era. He's also one of the best figures for romantic and lyrical pieces. Click here to view Percy Bysshe Shelley's complete poetic works (All major works and anthologized verses) by Titles/Date Written. William Wordsworth: ![]() The Nature poet. When many poets still wrote about ancient heroes in grandiloquent style, Wordsworth focused on the nature, children, the poor, common people, and used ordinary words to express his personal feelings. His definition of poetry is: "the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings arising from emotion, recollected in tranquility". His Nature poems are considered to be the best to this day. Click here to view William Wordsworth poems by Titles/First-lines. Though they both varied in their thoughts and views towards life and freedom, they both shared two things in common: Utter dedication and Love to poetry, and belief in the compulsive power of a poet. This group is mainly for discussions on and Contests honoring these English poets, and their works. New Writing
