Ours is a different world, even from other writers. Others sit down and write, and days, hours or even minutes later, they are getting feedback and feeling wonderful. Our labors are labors of love that last months and years. We write not knowing if we'll finish, or one day delete the last year's work in frustration. If we do finish, it's then only the beginning. It's at that point, time to go get rejected over and over and over. To question our talent and our drean much the same as Stephen King did when he tossed "Carrie" into the trash. We need each other for support, criticism, ideas and help. I would ask that all new members go to the forums and post a personal bio (Hell, you're going to have to do it for your best-sellers anyway) so we can all get a little background on one another. |
