Re: The Ruins

Einasze: I walk over to Coat'l Attor and lay a hand on his flank, patting him softly. "Well, I guess we should head out, huh?" I ask.

He swivels his massive head in my direction.

Coat'l: "You have much to learn, youngling. You could have been killed and then the kingdom would have lost one of its brightest lights. There is far more to you and your destiny than I can tell you, but if you'd only stay your wrath and hold your blades, then maybe you'll live long enough to become something truly great. For now, though, you are nothing more than an angry teenaged woman with no sense of self and no hope of reaching adulthood if you can't learn to control your rage! Now, let's go!"

He lumbers away from me and I sigh, bringing up the rear.

Re: The Ruins

Kasumi: I nod softly, but keep my eyes adverted as I walk behind Celeste.

Re: The Ruins

Rood: "Complexity makes magic fun," I comment before gesturing to her to go first: "Ladies first."

Re: The Ruins

Adrian: I drop back to the half-ling girl. " So what did Strygius do that agitated you so?" I ask with sincerity.

Re: The Ruins

Celeste Angelica: I take the lead and bring them down and large pathway, trees arching above.

Re: The Ruins

Einasze: I look Adrian in the eyes a moment, then look away in shame, realizing his dragon was right. "He, uh, used an illusion to disguise himself in the guise of the man that butchered my adoptive family. I was raised as an infant in a monastery far from here and the king of the lands that claimed the monastery theirs, razed it to the ground when he learned of my existence there. My whole life I have been feared and ridiculed and hated for how I look and, sometimes, I think they're right to fear me. I wanted to kill him, you know? The man that murdered my family. I wanted to rip his heart out and watch as he screamed for mercy like the monks that raised me did, but none ever found them. I'm going to sink my fangs into his soft flesh and rend it from his bones if I ever find him!" I say the last in a hard growl, balling my hands into tight fists.

Re: The Ruins

Rood: As I followed Celeste I had a weird sense of Deja vu, but decided to ignore it and strike up a conversation: "So, how old are you actually? You look my age."

Re: The Ruins

Adrian: So she wishes to sow more misery eh. " I see..... but how did you fall for such a trick? We are no where near your lands so that king showing up here is ludicrous....... But it's not like I don't understand. The temple I was raised in was destroyed as well."

Re: The Ruins

Celeste Angelica: " Asking a lady her age huh?"

Re: The Ruins

Einasze: "Coat'l and I learned that this man wasn't a real king. He was a traveler and he has some sort of power that lets him disguise himself as other people, but we encountered him once more about six months ago. Kasumi...she...prevented me from attacking and killing him, though I have yet to understand why. I just...I don't know, I just want to avenge my family and then be left alone. I'm tired of being feared and hated simply because I look like a giant bat!"

Re: The Ruins

Adrian: " Perhaps Kasumi knows more about that man than you would like to think. For instance, Maybe that king was related to you, and the ' nice people' of the monastery were raising you to become a living weapon." I say with a smile.

Re: The Ruins

Kasumi: I slip into the woods alongside our path and begin to silently move forward, tracking something through the underbrush. I slowly and quietly draw one katana and slice to the left swiftly. Something falls into the brush and I scoop it up, a smile on my face and nod to the surrounding trees, to thank them. I bring the rabbits back with me and tuck them into Coat'l's saddle bags. When we stop, I promise myself, to clean and prepare the meat for the others. Then I quietly slip into the trees again and continue scouting the terrain for my new friends.

Re: The Ruins

Celeste Angelica: I turn around. " What man are you speaking of?"  I ask

Re: The Ruins

Einasze: "Perhaps. Though I don't see why. The monks always taught me to respect life, even if that life is deemed evil in the eyes of others, to help those that need it and care for the sick and injured. Why would they want me to be a weapon?"

Re: The Ruins

Einasze: "I never knew his actual name, but he was King Taraeyn of the Emerald Isles, where I'm from. At least, I thought he was, until what happened, happened." I say, stopping quickly to avoid walking into her.

Re: The Ruins

Rood: "Curiosity once killed the cat, but I'm not a cat so..." I reply cheekily at Celeste's remark, listening into the other conversation.

Re: The Ruins

Celeste Angelica: I hold my hand to Rood, emitting a glow. " Don't make me shut your mouth for you."

Re: The Ruins

Adrian: " To build a foundation of trust. So that later when they ask you to kill the ' Bandit' you wouldn't even question it." I say thinking. " It was the same way for me. The monks of my temple say my abilities and would lore people they didn't like, tell me they were evil and I would kill them like the ignorant child I was."

Re: The Ruins

Einasze: I grin and say, "Oh, this should be good!"

Kasumi: While scouting the terrain, I spot something in the woods with golden eyes, but it scampers away from me as I approach it. I head back to the others, sensing it following me, bend over and pick up a thick stick, then break it in two so that the loud snap it makes will alert my friends.

Re: The Ruins

Rood: I lower her hand and dispel the glow from it, smiling at her: "Well you could try, can't say that it will work though."
