Tenderly,

I look upon you.

so innocent,

of this darkened world.

Your cry,

resonates throughout me.

 burdens heavy,

I carry for you.

Harsh world lightened,

by your care free smile.

gently kissing you upon the cheek,

world brightens for a moment.

weights of life,

lift with the sight of you.

For my love so freely given,

I will protect you always my child.

Your choice of structure brings to mind the quietude of early early morning hours, of the mind having processed its daily rubbish and having only solemn and patient certitude ahead. my little girl is a grown 22 year old now but I still consider her my little
baby. I just can get the child in her out of my mind.
