It’s funny how you always hit me straight to my heart

No one does it as good as you

I really wish I was bulletproof

Or, at least my heart

I wish those bullets would glance off

Instead of hitting it straight.

So many shots

So many hits

Not even a single miss..

Better to have a big heart and suffer the hits than to have no heart at all and have no love or affection or compassion. Which doesn't make the pain of love any more bearable, I know, but it does mean that the potential for a fulfilling life is greater. Such a straightfroward style, yet such an effective mesage - great writing!
