Sitting Alone

Sitting Alone

A Poem by A Risen Heroine.

Sitting alone

Barely breathing

I may be drunk enough,
To let go of my pain

Hidden away on
This cold lonely night

Sharp words

Cuts through the silence

Breaking me.

You took my heart

Shattered it

Threw it to the ground

Stomped on it

Just to watch it bleed.

Thought you said you cared

Thought you’d never let me down

Thought you said you were fond of me.

As I unfold a lost letter

“I Love You Darling.”
I cry.

I think the line "just to watch it bleed" shows just how much your emotions were betrayed. Time to burn the letter

A sad poem. Old letters and memories can make us sad. I like the honest emotion and the strong ending. Love can make us feel like champion or can make feel like lost and confuse souls. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Loved the first part but cannot say the same thing for the rest. It's not bad though, just a little ordinary :)
